What is your collaboration style?

As professionals, we often hear of the collaborative working environment. This got me thinking ... how often do we really engage in a collaborative work with our colleges. I think in many cases collaboration among educators and other professionals is still a work-in-progress. However, thanks to social media this is starting to shift. In my own experience, I have to say Twitter has taught me to be better at sharing and collaborating with others.

#1 Trick for Beating Procrastination

Have you noticed how your most insightful and creative ideas that have nothing to do with your work only come to you when you are on a deadline? For example, in the middle of you working on your project, suddenly it dawns on you that you need to wash all the dishes in the sink or else you can't work on your project.  Or you glance at your home office and notice it’s too messy and it needs a vacuum right away.

When it comes to procrastination, I must say, I am the queen. Whenever I have something important to do I always find a million other things that seem somehow to be more urgent. Recently, I discovered this little trick that actually seems to work in beating procrastination and all you need is a stopwatch (use your phone or Google Timer).

Set the stopwatch for 15 minutes and do nothing but work. As soon as that annoying sound goes off, set the stopwatch again for 5 minutes and do anything that you…

Is MSWord useful anymore?

As I logged into my Google Drive and opened my Google Docs, I noticed that Google users now have access to templates like resume, letter, report, and project proposal. This is amazing. Why would anyone ever want to use MSWord again? 

The best part of using my Google Docs or any Google Apps is that I can access it anytime and anywhere. I am never dependent on my computer's hard drive. All I ever need is an internet connection and any computer.
